An exciting opportunity exists within our 5* establishment to build your career. The Banqueting Department needs a motivated, dynamic Banqueting Coordinator to come and make their mark in a busy Banqueting Department, which has exciting new features to offer. The successful candidate will assist the Revenue Manager with the following: ? Ascertaining and noting client’s exact needs when discussing the details of all functions.? Prompt, courteous responses and follow ups made to all enquiries.? Securing all inquiries and tentative bookings.? Planning, overseeing and co-ordinating the TEAM. Ensure all conferences and events are properly planned and quoted for.? Ascertaining the client’s choice of menu, beverage, entertainment, table-plan and equipment requirements.? Drawing up of contracts and ensuring they are signed and deposits paid timeously.? Obtaining rooming lists, checklists, vouchers or orders and payments prior to check-in.? Monitoring all provisional and confirmed function bookings to ensure that no double bookings occur and that the use of facilities and revenue is optimised.? Compile weekly Function Sheets / Spec Sheets and update daily as required ensuring all relevant departments are informed of changes.? Maintaining effective communication by attending daily meetings and ensuring essential information is communicated to all relevant personnel.? Informing F&B Manager and Assistant F&B Manager of detail about activities, progress and results.? Treating instructions from Management constructively, and acting upon them.? Administration prior and after each event, accurate billing for the function is recorded and such information and supporting documentation is passed on to Accounts.? All work carried out in an organized and efficient manner taking into account work priorities and laid down procedures.? Organizing of special events e.g. Christmas lunch, Valentines Dinner & VIP Gala Dinners etc.Requirements: ? Matric (Grade 12)? Hospitality Management Diploma or Certificate would be beneficial? A dynamic, resourceful individual with attention to detail.? MUST be GUEST and service driven? Ability to work accurately under pressure.? Excellent communication skills both verbal & written? Computer Literacy is essential (Micros, OPERA, Word, Excel)? Good planning, organizational and time management skills? Previous experience is essential? 5* Hotel experience will be an advantage
