Key Purpose
To engage in the operational delivery on the adoption, use, exploitation of systems and software to enable business delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Information Management
- Provide input into possibilities of adoption cycles
- Conduct trend analysis to provide high level input into technology adoption
Technology & Process Management
- Advise on application of technology to enhance business delivery
- Provide input into adoption cycles that grow IS capability and meet the current and future needs of the business
- Delivery on Core & Divisional SLAs: within budget, on time, to the customer’s satisfaction and within quality parameters
- Ensure uptime meets the agreed SLA: system available on a continuous basis with minimal disruption or downtime
- Problem Management according to agreed turnaround times
- Current back-up system is available at all times
- Report indicating maintenance levels are current
- No unscheduled outage because of integration incompatibility
- Version management comparisons done and discrepancies identified
- Audit report indicating no security violations
- Ensure recovery procedures meet objectives
Project Management
- Lead operational projects: to deliver on budget, on time, to the customer’s satisfaction and within quality parameters
People & Relationship Management
- Guide peers in workgroup
- Interaction with business
- Vendor escalation
Continuous Improvement
- Technology exploitation of current systems and software ensuring business is deriving maximum benefit.
- Ensure service delivery is improved to meet the needs of the clients.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
Knowledge
- In depth knowledge of 1 or more of the SAP products that are supported specifically by basis
- Understanding and knowledge of SAP technical infrastructure and interfaces

Qualifications and Experience
- K3/4 rating SAP certification
- IT Diploma or equivalent experience
- Minimum 8 years’ IT experience
- 2-4 years SAP BASIS experience
- 4 years exposure to working in a Projects environment in a diverse implementation
- Detailed BASIS experience in at least 1 of the following (ERP, CRM, PI, SCM, EP, MI, BI, Solution Manager, GRC)
- Experience in SAP TMS and CTS+
- Proficient in a DBMS product (Preferably SQL, DB2 or Oracle)
