Job Description:
A leading multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm based in South Africa with a strong African orientation and Geographical footprint.

Bid Manager – Africa for the Integrated Infrastructure Sector’s core purpose:

To drive business development and sales for the Integrated Infrastructure Sector in African countries (excluding South Africa), and to turn opportunities into firm work for delivery by operational units.

Position details:

This would be relevant for the following core markets:
– Urban and Rural Planning
– Water and Sanitation Engineering
– Housing and Community Infrastructure
– Structures – Building & Civil
– Commercial Infrastructure

Key Responsibility Areas

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
Compilation, management and submission of winning tenders and EOI’s in African countries for the Integrated Infrastructure Sector
Developing relationships with potential and existing clients and donor agencies in targeted African countries
Liaison with the African Business Development Managers in the East, Central and West African countries through the African Desk
Develop and maintain business development strategies to ensure company is the first to know of potential projects and budgets in targeted African countries for the Integrated Infrastructure Sector
Drive publicity for and develop the company brand in Africa
General support of the Integrated Infrastructure Sector Business Development Manager
Successful growth of the business for the Integrated Infrastructure Sector
Depending on South African permanent residency status, the position can be offered on permanent or contract basis.

Job Qualification & Experience:
Minimum requirements
• Tertiary qualification in the built Engineering
• At least 10 years of engineering work experience, within core market sector
• At least 5 years of bid preparation experience in the African Built environment
• Willingness to travel extensively within Africa
• Professional registration with ECSA or similar body
