Qualification
Competent person:
Welder / Boiler maker
3 to 4 years Apprenticeship programme
Trade test qualification as Welder / Boiler maker: N3
Coded 6G position M/M and M/S

Experience
Minimum 3 years post qualification experience in petro, chemical, paper & pulp, smelter or mining industry

Specific tasks and functions.
Clean equipment and inspect
Manufacture and plant steel fabrication
Pipe installations and welding as per Pressure Equipment Regulations (PER)
Filter side wall manufacture and install
Screw conveyor installation
General workshop fabrication

General requirements.
Basic computer literate including maintenance management systems.
Good English communication (read, speak, write)
Stand-by and overtime requirement including weekends (planned and on short notice)
Reside in NMMM area (company to provide reasonable relocation if outside NMMM area)
Able to read drawings
Own transport
Team player

Physical activity
Able to perform required functions: walking, carrying , climbing, working on heights, confined spaces, good vision
Exposure to internal and external environmental conditions, noise, hazards

Crane rigging training
