Position: Half Day Bookkeeper
Location: Western Cape, Cape Town, Plumstead
Start Date: Immediately
Due Date: 1 March 2017
Salary: 10 000 -12 000

Overview:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced book keeper to join a dynamic and passionate team of people who are making a difference to South Africa. Fetola requires a qualified and experienced half day bookkeeper. This is a new position to absorb additional workload. You will need to have a high level of competency and be comfortable taking responsibility for your tasks, and working independently from your senior manager to achieve results. Proactive, timely implementation and problem solving skills are essential.

Candidates must have experience in the following:
1. Monthly management accounts;
2. Budgets;
3. Funder reporting;
4. VAT;
5. Ability to work with multiple companies;
6. Legal requirements – BBBEE / TCC; and
7. Audits.

Minimum job requirements:

Education or qualification: Matric and relevant finance qualification
Experience and/or training: Significant prior work experience, advanced computer skills, Pastel Accounting and funder reporting and budgeting.

Duties include but not limited to:

1. Bookkeeping and financial administration
• Maintain accurate, up to date records of all financial transactions.
• Assist with capturing of monthly accounting information on Pastel.
• Prepare and present VAT, PAYE and UIF returns for payment.
• Maintain daily filing and record-keeping systems - including invoicing, debtors and creditors, petty cash etc.
2. Legislative/statutory obligations
• Maintain all legislative returns are submitted as required by law, including SARS, Dept. of Labour, CIPRO, Tax clearance certificates, insurance, Workman’s compensation, BEE certification etc.)
• Alert the Company /Financial Director of any compliance/Legislative matters of concern.
3. Administrative records and related admin
• Maintain appropriate orderly record-keeping and admin systems to ensure up to date project and company records, both digitally and in hard copy.
