My client, a boutique Accounting Firm in Panorama spesialising in the niche market of accounting for the medical profession, requires a Bookkeeper.

Start date: 1 February 2018

Half day position: 8h00 to 13h00

Key responsibilities:

Going out to clients to process their monthly bookkeeping
Handling in house bookkeeping clients
Pastel processing up to Trial balance – cashbooks, bank reconciliations, debtors, creditors, petty cash, stock
Drafting of monthly management accounts and reports
VAT calculations and reconciliations
Payroll calculations and reconciliations
Preparation of statutory returns – VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL and Workmen’s Compensation
Completion of VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL and Workmen’s Compensation registration forms
Attending SARS appointments
Assistance with tax returns
Assistance with SARS queries
Dealing with general queries from clients
Assistance with annual returns – CIPC
Assistance with statutory documents – CIPC
Assistance with admin duties in the office and answer the phone

The candidate must meet the following requirements:

2 to 3 years relevant working experience
Previous experience working in an accounting practice is advantageous
Experience in Pastel Accounting, Pastel Payroll and Microsoft Office is essential
Caseware experience is advantageous
SARS e-filing and e at syfile experience is essential
SAIPA qualified
Own reliable transport is essential

Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Must be neat, organised, punctual, hardworking and motivated
Attention to detail is essential
Good understanding of debits and credits and accounting principles

Must reside in the Northern Suburbs

Must have a friendly and pleasant personality

Salary on offer: R8 000 - R12 000 CTC (based on experience)
