BOOKKEEPER/JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT – URGENT VACANCY
ASHTON, WESTERN CAPE
Salary: R15, 000 – R18, 000per month negotiable
A national Agricultural company is expanding and subsequently has a vacancy for a BOOKKEEPER/JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT. The ideal candidate will be meticulous, high attention to detail, accurate, self-motivated, have the ability to perform well under pressure and multitask.
The position is based at the offices in ASHTON, Western Cape. Reporting to the Financial Manager the successful candidate will have a minimum of Grade 12 and a suitable tertiary qualification. 2 years’ relevant experience is essential in all aspects of controlling the general ledger, controlling all financial input documentation, stock reconciliations, assisting with compilation of annual budgets and general office administration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure all debtors are up to date daily, weekly and monthly.
o Invoicing
o Credit notes
o Allocation of payments
o Reconciliations
o Following up on outstanding amounts
o Sending out of Statements
• Ensure all suppliers are up to date weekly and monthly.
o Purchase orders
o Supplier invoices
o Reconciliations
o Payment strictly on 30 days
o Ensure that all supplier invoices for purchase orders are received and entered before month-end
• Ensure cashbooks are up to date weekly and monthly.
• Check petty cash recon to supporting documentation monthly before the general manager is asked to sign it off.
• Ensure all SAWIS returns are up to date.
• Ensure that the SARS - Excise and duty returns are up to date.
• Ensure that monthly stock takes are done and calculating stock adjustments and reconciling with sales
• Ensure that all Sales reports agree with pastel
• Updating the fixed asset register monthly and processing of depreciation
• Ensure that all balance sheet accounts agree to supporting documentation and that a month end file is kept with the supporting documents.
• Ensure that all entries are entered for the month end before the 12th of the following month.
• Complete a weekly cash flow forecast for holdings company and ensure that all intercompany balances agree and are indicated under intercompany balances.
• Ensure that the VAT report is send to the Financial Manager before the 25th of the applicable months and that the tax period is closed before the report is generated.
• Complete any other Ad-hoc tasks and projects within the specified deadline as allocated to you by the General Manager or the Financial Manager.

QUALIFICATION
• Bachelor Degree or National Diploma (3 Years) in Accounting
• Above average knowledge of MS Office, PASTEL.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience
