Main purpose of the job
To be responsible for the processing, accounting function and the liaising with clients through ensuring adherence to the WHC accounting policies and procedures.

Parktown

Key performance areas
Full bookkeeping function to balance sheet.
Maintaining financial records and preparing monthly accounts.
Processing into SAGE X3 (Bank Services, Debtors, Creditors, Journals) & processing bank reconciliations.
Performing ledger reconciliations to supporting documentation & efficient clearing of reconciling items.
Compiling the monthly VAT schedule and meeting weekly and monthly deadlines for processing, reconciling & controls.
Accurate and comprehensive monthly financial packs.
Adhoc tasks as requested by manager.

Required minimum education and training
Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Accounting

Required minimum work experience
Minimum of 3 years bookkeeping experience to balance sheet

Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities
Computer literacy – Microsoft office, Excel essential.
Experience in Sage X3 advantageous or any other Accounting software.
Good time management skills are required.
Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and managers.
Deadline Driven.
Analytical with meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure & willing to work overtime.
Knowledge of donor specific requirements will be advantageous.
