Wanted: Bookkeeper

A Durban based Financial Services company is looking for a mid-level bookkeeper to be based at
their clothing wholesale client - a company who supplies some of South Africa's major retailers.

Candidates must have a matric certificate, strong skills in Microsoft Excel, and at least 3 to 5 years prior bookkeeping experience on accounting software. Experience in a stock/inventory environment essential, as well as experience in full debtors management, full creditors management and cashbook processing. Knowledge of processing journal entries and ability to reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly necessary. Advantages would include a tertiary qualification in bookkeeping/accounting, experience working on Sage One and/or Pastel, and experience in processing imports, with knowledge of import documents.

Must be a self starter with the ability to work independently.

DAILY TASKS WOULD INCLUDE:

• Processing cash book
• Customer invoicing
• Monthly debtors recons and statements
• Monthly creditors processing and recons
• Processing of stock import purchases
• Processing of month end journal entries
• Be able to deal with and handle all mid level account queries
• Management and general office support
• Stock control

This bookkeeper role is a mid-level position with a salary of R15 000/month (negotiable depending on skills and experience). Hours are 8 - 4:30pm Monday to Thursday and 8 - 3:30pm on Fridays. Client is based in Mt Edgecombe.
