? Ensure availability of merchandise and maintaining inventories
? Secures merchandise (Implementing security systems and measures)
? Markets merchandise (Studying advertising, sales promotion and display plans)
? Authorising clearance sales
? Studying trends and staying up to date with trends
? Comply with legal requirements
? Provide a safe, clean store environment
Finance and cost control
? Annual budget preparation
? Scheduling expenditures
? Tracking budget expenses
? Variance analysis and initiation of corrective actions
? Risk management
? Formulating pricing policies
? Analysing operating and financial statements for profitability ratios
? Review operating & financial statements and sales records

Business Development
? Creating income opportunities through bringing new deals and closing branch deals
? Establish rapport with potential and current customers
? Creating business and marketing plans
? Determine marketing strategy changes
Staff Management
? Scheduling and assigning employees
? Plan, monitor and follow up on work/job results
? Managing employee performance
? Training, coaching, counselling, appraising and disciplining employees
? Initiate, coordinate and enforce program, operational, personnel policies & procedures
