Candidates must come from a shop fitting or wood manufacturing environment. This is non-negotiable.

Main Objectives:
1. Manage business operations and technical areas of Sets, Drapes and Screens (SDS) including all staff and resources within the Durban branch.
2. Manage and control the financial aspects of Sets, Drapes and Screens (SDS), ensuring the profitability and sustainability of the Durban branch.
3. Develop new client business by pursuing business opportunities within target markets and cultivating relationships with new clients.


Responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:
• Liaise with clients regarding project requirements to establish budget, schedules and discuss design ideas.
• Provide clients with conceptual drawings/designs as required.
• Ensure accurate implementation through the relevant managers.
• Generate comprehensive quotation specifications (including crew, stagehands, transport, travel, equipment subhires and miscellaneous extras) for entry into Hiretrack.
• Follow up on unconfirmed quotations.
• Oversee the operational and administrative functions of Sets, Drapes and Screens (SDS) within the Durban branch, ensuring that the branch is functioning optimally and providing exceptional service, ensuring client satisfaction.
• Participate in the compilation and implementation of annual budgets for the Durban branch.
• Manage cost of sales, overhead costs and achievement of turnover targets within the Durban branch.
• Take responsibility for Sets, Drapes and Screens (SDS) compliance with safety regulations through the engagement with Health & Safety Representatives at the branch and enforce safe practice amongst staff members contracted to Sets, Drapes and Screens (SDS).
• Assist management with any other duties as may be required.


Requirements:
• Matric
• Previous experience within the sets industry or equivalent related work experience
• Five years branch management experience or equivalent related work experience
• Previous budget management experience
• Sales and project management experience will be advantageous
