A market-leading retail company is looking for the skills of a PR co-ordinator to join their team.

The ideal candidate will be both a strategic and creative individual with a strong focus on media as well as branding principles. The core focus of this role is to assist the marketing and operations managers in all internal as well as external brand PR and special events across all platforms (print, digital and broadcast).

Requirements:
- You will need to have sound knowledge in digital and print communications
- Fluency in both English and Afrikaans (and preferably) one African language)
- You will need to be strategically-orientated and task-driven
- You will be required to develop and implement various media strategies to gain coverage for various activations and events
- You will have a strong working knowledge of social media and its constraints
- The ability to work in a team and plan, design and create various forms of written communications for radio, print and press

Candidate specifications:
- A relevant tertiary degree in Public Relations
- The ideal candidate with be able to cope well with pressure and setbacks and take them in their stride
- The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the retail environment.
- The ideal candidate will be an implementer with a balance between strategic and creative thinking
- Strong networking abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong presentation skills
