A global business and technology consultancy, dedicated solely to the financial services industry, has recently opened a practice in South Africa. This role offers the chance to work for some of the leading financial institutions in the market, whilst personally being part of this dynamic consultancy with an already amazing growth story.

Their requirement is for a Business Analyst with relevant industry experience in the banking and insurance sectors to join their South African practice. Particular focus is being given to individuals with experience in the following areas:
• Retail Banking
• Finance; General Ledger/Accounting
• Payments
• Insurance
Key Responsibilities
You will be working on client site as a Business Analyst playing a key role in the delivery of complex IT and Business related projects within the financial services sector. You will be accountable for delivering various artefacts throughout the project lifecycle in order to meet the client’s objectives
Key Skills and Experience:
Business/Process Analysis
• Business analysis and delivery excellence within the financial services industry
• Requirement gathering to produce structured, functional specifications
• Proven ability to run effective workshops for client business users and produce documentation
• Process improvement with a structured approach – e.g. LEAN Six Sigma, proven record of working through the full project life cycle
• Proven experience working in a project environment with different methodologies and approaches (e.g. Prince 2, PMI, PMBOK, Agile, Waterfall, UML, Rational Rose)
• Strong analysis skills
• Extensive experience working in a Retail Banking change environment
• An understanding of the testing phase of projects - test cases, scenario based testing, Systems Integration testing ,UAT testing, regression testing etc (Please note this is NOT a tester role)
• Formal training in the business analysis (desirable but not mandatory) e.g. Business Analysis /Systems Analysis Diploma, Prince 2, PMI, PMBOK, LEAN Six Sigma etc
Consulting skills:
You will be working on complex projects on client site made up of the consultancy and client employees at different levels.
• Advising clients regarding business improvement initiatives (spans business, process and technology changes)
• Business/Process Analysis, Project Management and Change Management within the financial services industry
• Proven Front to back delivery –from Operating model to IT delivery and execution
• Broad awareness of changes happening across the banking industry and how this will impact our clients
• Practice development and business development as a management consultant
• Proposition and solution development for a management consultancy
• Flexibility to work outside your comfort zone/key area of knowledge across the financial services space e.g. working in different business domains from Retail Banking to Wealth Management to Investment Banking, to Insurance depending on client demand.

Preference will be given to candidates that have Core Banking or large scale systems implementation experience.
