Business Analyst

6 month extendable contract at 1 of the major banks in Jhb.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review change requests and determine whether changes should be classified as Business As Usual, Projects, Programmes or Strategic Initiatives
• Complete required Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Technical Specifications, Functional Specifications, minutes of meetings and Project Status Reports
• Maintain adequate files for governance audits to be conducted without adverse findings
• Track the financial aspects of the implementation, costs and savings.
• Determine stakeholder communication and interaction requirements and contract with relevant stakeholders
• Participate in the negotiation of funding for system changes and together with Operations, prepare detailed cost and benefit analyses
• Conduct interviews with line and request inputs from stakeholders and perform a proper stakeholder analysis
• Manage relationships with line role players, i.e. do presentations of business cases and form of documentation pertaining
• Keep stakeholders informed of progress of initiatives
• Develop a guide for fact gathering and analysis
• Understand and translate concepts and requirements
• Conduct scoping workshops with role players to capture requirements
• Produce Concept Documents and high level BRDs (Business Requirement Definition documents) and specifications
• Develop new and improved business designs, including; business procedures, functional specifications and business processes
• Ensure that business performance is optimised through business models and capabilities
• Identify functional requirements which include transactions and business processes, system outputs, interfaces
• Identify and source informational requirements to ensure that reports, enquiries, extracts imports and data feeds are produced
• Keep abreast of market and industry developments to recommend and implement best practices
• Review the functional specification by partnering with relevant stakeholders
• Assist to convert functional requirements into technical designs
• Analyse “as is” “business architectures”, to identify issues, opportunities, etc.
• Conduct best practice research to benchmark solutions
• Ensure alignment to software release and conduct System Testing

Qualifications

• B Degree in B.SC or IT or Commerce or related NQF level 6 or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification or higher
• Three (3) years Business Analyst experience
• Three (3) years Data or Systems Analyst experience
• Five (5) years experience in Proposition Management is required
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and the Internet
• No criminal record
