Description :

The Global Reconciliation Operation (GRO) is a highly specialised team that delivers strategic and operational reconciliation initiatives for a global community (South Africa, Ireland, United Kingdom and Mauritius). The team is fast paced and performance driven, focusing on delivering support reconciliation, methodologies and strategies for the support community of the bank. The application used by the GRO is a reconciliation system called TLM SmartStream.
The GRO is looking for a business analyst with a strong logical ability, a systematic thinking approach, and who is strongly motivated by a need to deliver quality solutions and with innovation. Good communication is essential in this role, as well as a high attention to detail.
The successful applicant will work on software projects, performing many aspects of a software delivery lifecycle, including analysis, basic programming skills, testing, installation, support and maintenance of reconciliation solutions and associated data. Will also project manage tasks and own deliverables, as well as reporting into and communicating with customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:

• Client Delivery & Solution Definition
• High level business case and solution design (including the Functional requirements Specification) for business driven requirements within given standards
• Deliver cost-effective, user friendly, innovative solutions (business process re-engineering, systems and technology).
• Participate in the full SDLC depending on the scope of the initiative including post implementation activities. This includes the formulation of appropriate documents to present at the various forums and checkpoints
• Ensure that processes, business rules(including decision point trees and rules definitions), data requirements (including Business Data Dictionary and reference List), project administration etc are accurately and completely documented in line with the delivery strategy of the GRO team.
• Ensure that services are appropriately documented
• Presentation and communication of ideas and solutions to key stakeholders.
• Gathering information in order to formulate a business case.
• Accurately gather user requirements and document accordingly. Ensure requirements take business, testing, development, reporting and operational requirements into account.
• Facilitate the rollout of processes and other training within operations.
• Assist in the testing process. This requires the facilitation with the test analysts of transferring functional requirements into testing scenarios, and facilitation of user acceptance testing
• Manage the implementation and post-implementation aspects of requirements with relevant stakeholders
Configures application to map source system data to reconciliation application data
• Builds reconciliation match rules using TLM tools


TECHNICAL SUPPORT, RECOMMENDATION AND TESTING
• Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
• Works with client personnel to identify required changes.
• Communicates needed changes to development team
• Drive application development by becoming an expert on the reconciliation application that is currently being used in the company.
• Leads testing efforts, particularly related to data matching and verification
• Working knowledge of data constructs and principles of database design. Should be able to interpret an Entity Relationship diagram

PROJECT EXECUTION
• Assists in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.
• Takes input from supervisor and appropriately and accurately applies comments/ feedback.
• Communicates and applies project standards.
• Manages resources in accordance with project schedule.
• Consistently delivers high-quality services to our clients.
• Conducts application training to first-time users.
Understands the components of running an end to end successful project.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS
• An IT related qualification from an accredited college or university
• Basic Programming skills (e.g. SQL, ORACLE)
• Sound knowledge infrastructure and data integration

REQUIRED
• 3-5 years minimum experience in a business analyst role (Financial Services industry preferred)
• IBM WebSphere MQ & Message Broker application background useful
• Linux (RedHat), VMWare virtual server environments, Control-M scheduling software background useful
• Proficient in Windows, MS Office tools e.g. Excel, Notepad++
• Candidate must speak and communicate well
• Candidate must have a strong technical background

DESIRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL
• Exposure to financial applications (TLM SmartStream, Calypso, Front Arena etc.)
• Financial Services experience
• Reconciliation application experience
