Business Development Sales Manager – Elec / Motor Ind

based in Linbro Park

MAIN PURPOSE

Responsible for the development and growth of the company Integrated projects sales and management of the associated sales team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales

? Establish and grow the the company in the multifaceted, high value project business.
? Achieve a project sales budget according to annually set budgets.
? This position is a managerial position but it very definately requires substantial external direct sales activity both as a sales person and in support of the sales staff.
? Maintain a personal customer base of selected key customers
? Recruit, employ, develop and manage a sales team specifically for project sales
? Ensure a high level of both sales and technical competance as well as profesional conduct within this team.
? The area related to these functions is South Africa, Sub Saharan Africa as well as the countries key in projects within Africa such as but not limited to Australia and Canada.
? Ensure that group offers are submitted with commercial terms that are aligned.
? Coordinate pricing structure and package discounts for group offers.
? Negotiate and arrange package and product offers, pricing, delivery and technical correctness with .
? Negotiate and arrange package and product offers, pricing, delivery amd technical correctness with external and internal suppliers.

Management

? Manage the sales team. This will include but is not limited to:
o Setting and achieving budgets
o Customer allocations and visit schedules
o Project allocations
? Interface with , Senior Management and The company business units to ensure alignment of goals, purposes, activities and strategy.
? Create and manage the systems required to administrate this business, such as a projects register, customer list, call schedules, business plan and others.
? Create and maintain a customer database of all project related customers.
? Create and maintain a project database.
? Manage the interfacing with sales staff within all The company business units, branches and subsiduaries to facilitate succesful co-ordination of project sales.
? Arrange the relevant technical, commercial and sales training for the sales team.
? Weekly or monthly sales reporting.

WORKING CONDITIONS

? Position will require out of town travel.
? Regular after hours customer entertainment
? Is subject to work beyond normal working hours, evenings, weekends and holidays should the need arise.
? Attends and participates in continuing educational programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

? Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, including formal communications and making presentations.
? Appreciation of the principals of effective budget management, and ability to apply those principals.
? Ability to respond to the frequent pressures of meeting deadlines when work speed and sustained accuracy is paramount.
? Valid driver's license.
? Must be able to operate office equipment including information management tools (Windows, Excel, PowerPoint and SysPro).
? Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
? Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as the willingness to handle difficult staff and situations.
