The candidate will be based in Cape Town, however must be willing to travel in order to unlock new clients, introduce Company to consultant engineers and project houses and occasionally support our distributor and reseller network.

The following indicators will be key to assess suitability for this position:
• Experience is Sales (full sales cycle from inception to completion)
• Experience in New Business Development (identifying and unlocking prospective clients and being able to match the needs to our product range)
• Experience across multiple industries
• Contacts in Blue-chip clients in the Western Cape will be an added advantage
• Contacts with project houses, consulting engineers, City Council, Transnet Group, Eskom, local authorities and State Departments will count in the candidates favour
• Formal training - a diploma or degree with technical or science background is a pre-requisite
• Management experience will count in the candidate's favour (the ability to manage sales and/or project teams, tasks and people )
• The ability to liaise and negotiate up to board level
• a driven individual who is able to consistently meet expected target
• Self motivated with a positive attitude
• Ability to motivate and drive a team of individuals
• Ability to complete projects and keeping abreast of key details pertaining to the project
• Self-growth, willingness to improve his knowledge on product, industry norms and laws
• Strong sense of responsibility, the ability to take responsibility for tasks and clients
• A sense of urgency to get tasks completed
• Ability to take fair and constructive criticism and respond to coaching and training

The candidate needs to demonstrate his/her track record and have solid references.

Ideal Group: 30-40 yrs and of sober habits, no criminal record, valid driver's license and no adverse credit record

Package CTC: R 360k - R480k, experience and education dependent

Duties

The position focuses on two aspects:

A. New Business Development
This position is responsible for bringing in new business in larger accounts. You must be comfortable uncovering opportunities and continuously promoting Company's benefits to find a match. This position is required to develop a strong presence in the market and to gain a competitive stronghold and to expand sales coverage beyond the firm's current customer base.
We require the candidate to work within a team and with a methodical approach to assess the opportunities in the various industries being targeted.

B. Account Maintenance as Sales Account Executive
This part of the position entails, but is not limited to the following tasks:
1. Identifying potential customers, gathering information about them and adding them to our database (address, activity, size, key contact persons, potential sales per year,...)
2. Developing a strong customer base by establishing professional relations and generating sales in a profitable way with a commensurate amount of time spent per customer.
3. Visiting customers to establish their needs and explain & demonstrate our products
4. Regularly sending appropriate product information to prospective clients.
5. Preparing quotations and tenders, following up, preparing the processing of complex sales orders and ensuring that the client gets professional service all round.
6. Identify and build up contact with key people in industry that could recommend our service and influence sales, inclusive of being member of professional organisations that service clients in various key industries ( e.g. NACA, engineering interest groups)
7. Arranging site visits and technical support to clients
8. Arranging client interactions (seminars, talks, exhibitions, training courses etc..)
9. Expanding the key client base in order to meet set sales target
10. Ensure that clients are satisfied with the services of the company and highlight to your superiors any areas of discontent and suggest improvements
11. Feed back market movements and competitor information that will allow decisions to be taken to remain competitive
12. Monitor and analyse own sales performance as well as that of key industries and key clients and know in how far targets will be met, devise strategies to increase own sales to existing and new clients
