Job Title: Business Development and Operations Manager: Laundromat

Overview:

The primary objective of the role is to ensure the business operates profitably by overseeing day-to-day operations, and maintaining an exceptional level of customer satisfaction. You will be the first point of contact for the business.

We run a small- to medium-sized laundromat offering wash-dry-fold services to our customers for the past 20 years. We are looking to expand our experienced staff team with the addition of a manager who can oversee daily operations as well as staff support functions with a smile.

You will be responsible for scheduling and managing staff shifts and
maintaining steady business operations as the laundromat grows.

You will need to coordinate and complete product deliveries.
A driving license is a must.

The business is in a growth phase, and your role will be instrumental seeing out this growth both on the customer and business-to-business side.

The business is based in Rondebosch area, Southern Suburbs.
This is a full-time position with remuneration of: R 8 000.00 per month.

Responsibilities:
1. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and engagement through the delivery of a superior customer experience.
2. Provide customers with basic and accurate business and product information, in-person and via phone/email.
3. Take ownership of customers issues, and action resolutions.
4. Develop and maintain service procedures, policies and standards.
5. Keep ahead of industry developments and apply best practices.
6. Maintain an orderly and consistent workflow.
7. Develop Quality Assurance practices and implement Standards for both staff and product.
8. Motivate and manage team members and resolve issues which may occur on the job.
9. Oversee staff performance on a daily basis.
10. Oversee staff scheduling responsibilities.
11. Plan and complete daily delivery routes.
12. Business development: seek out and on-board new customers, and develop and maintain customer relationships.

Requirements:
1. Knowledge and experience using management methods and techniques.
2. Proficient with computers, including Microsoft Office, the internet, and basic payment systems.
3. Establish procedures to manage cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene standards.
4. Experience in providing customer service support.
5. Experience leading a team as well as leading work streams and/or initiatives.
6. Strong customer-facing and communication skills.
7. Ability to recognise opportunities and formulate business deals.
8. Ability to cope under stress and deal with possible emergencies.
9. Excellent organisational and team management skills.
10. Manual labour (washing and folding of clothing) may be required at times when the business becomes busy.
11. Being resourceful, innovative and having an entrepreneurial spirit would count heavily in your favour.
12. A South African Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent is required.
13. Valid Driving Licence.

Previous experience in a similar industry or management position will be to your advantage.
