MAIN JOB PURPOSE
Business Development Consultant (BDC), serves as the face and voice of the company, build customer relations and successfully promote Signa group products and solutions (Ambassador). The BDC is required to proactively and zealously develop and establish new corporate business, maintaining key relationships with existing customers and broker’s, follow-up on new leads and sell Signa Group solutions to customers. Through a high level of sales professionals, his/her priority is to assist Signa companies acquire new customers and sell additional products or services to existing ones.

In collaboration with the Business Development Manager and the Group GM Business Development, the Business Development Consultant demonstrates appropriate competitive behaviour, integrity, ethical conduct that represents the values, culture and Signa brand in all stakeholder engagements.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Matric, Sales qualification /Marketing certificate or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field will be an advantage
• Drivers License and own transport
• At least 5 years of experience selling services
• At least 6 months in Transformation/BBBEE industry

DUITES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties of the Business Development Consultant (Ambassador) include:

SELLING

? Be a “brand ambassador” that represents the company’s brand and values
? Sell Signa Group Solutions to a primarily Corporate Market.
? Present confidently to large audiences as well as to individuals. (Presentation Skills)
? Achieve KPI’s and revenue targets as set out by the target agenda.
? Follow up leads for prospective clients.
? Travel to both locally (Gauteng) and nationally from time to time to pursue sales, conduct workshops and do presentations to clients.
? Successful implementation and management of Business initiatives
? Be awareness of competition and market information
? Assist in identifying new potential brokers and opportunities for business growth
? Facilitate the sales process and ensure that brokers deal with correct channels
? Support of brokers in developing of new business
? Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new
products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
? Any additional responsibilities as required from time to time

RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
? Determine the needs of a customer and offer solutions to those needs through the company’s
products or services
? Establish strong relationships with brokers and maintaining a Channel, these are typically B-BBEE
consultants, Accountants, Verification Agents, Business Managers and growth of allocated
portfolio’s
? Maintain relationships with all their clients and this means at least one meeting per quarter.
? Work closely with other departments and finding opportunities to cross sell.
? Keep CRM updated daily, weekly and monthly.
? Periodically discuss examples of appropriate and inappropriate advertising with associate brokers
and representatives
? Review all advertisements and ensure that associate brokers and representatives are made aware
of advertising guidelines and policies
? Hold office meetings with associate brokers and representatives engaged by the brokerage
? Ensures that all associate brokers, representatives, the brokerage, and the managing broker are
trained, and professional development assistance/guidance is provided for associate brokers and
representatives
? Assist and advise associate brokers and representatives and other employees as they encounter
problems in their day-to-day activities
? Follow up on the activities of associate brokers and representatives who are absent for prolonged
periods from the office
? Work closely with other departments and finding opportunities to cross sell.
? Support of brokers in maintaining existing business relationships, especially in offering assistance
for preparation and conducting of client consultations
? Maintain external relationships with Brokers
? Support sales strategy and business plan for the individual broker

COMPLIANCE AND ADMINISTRATION

? Keep abreast on BBBEE legislation and the various Charters and should remain current at all times.
? Seek opportunities for learning and training
? Ensure all administration relating to sales is completed effectively
? Attend and pass all sales courses conducted and facilitated at Signa Group/Academy.
? Achieve a 75% (by number) retention of all his/her clients year on year.
? Keep copies of communications on file
? Ensures that associate brokers and representatives obtain a written service agreement that includes
a general description of services and that the services are in accordance with the policies of the
brokerage
? Comply to all company policies and procedures.

REPORTING
? Compile daily, weekly and monthly reports on pipeline and status of each client and provide
information to Business Development Manager and other relevant internal divisions.
? Keep sales up to date on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
? Attend weekly and monthly internal meetings to provide feedback and update on pipeline business.
? Record all negotiating with potential customers and closing sales
? Monthly analysis of figures down to broker level
