Job Summary

A well-established company specializing in the administration of injury on duty claims requires a part time (three days a week) Business Development Manager to assist in the implementation of the company’s growth strategy. The successful candidate will participate in product conceptualization, planning and execution of product development and stakeholder engagement initiatives under the leadership of the Chief Executive Officer.

Responsibilities
• Take ownership of the conceptualisation, setup and implementation of new business ventures;
• Take ownership of all tender procedures including the compilation of a tender bid submission;
• Participate in pricing new products and/or services;
• Work with external consultants to setup all new product/service materials including brochures, contracts, etc.
• Ensure that all new business products and/or services as well as relevant procedure manuals are well documented and communicated;
• Train and develop staff members for new products and/or services, with the aim of continued improvement and optimisation of resources;
• Prospect for new clients by networking, cold calling, advertising or other means of generating interest from potential clients;
• Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organisation;
• Research and build relationships with new clients;
• Continuous improvement of relationships with existing clients;
• Market and industry research;
• Weekly feedback reporting to management; and
• Ad hoc tasks in line with the company’s objectives as and when required.

Job requirements
• The candidate must have at least three years’ experience in a claims processing environment;
• The candidate must have at least three years’ experience in a management role;
• The candidate must have demonstrated experience in conducting research, collecting, collating and analyzing information and research data
with the ability to problem solve;
• The candidate must have a background in marketing with the ability to communicate with people in all levels of an organisation, have
exceptional influencing and negotiation skills and excellent business writing skills;
• The candidate must be highly organised with multi-tasking abilities and the ability to adequately mobilise and manage resources;
• The candidate must have excellent communication skills;
• The candidate must have the ability to conceptualise and put structure to unstructured thoughts and data;
• Experience in the Medical Services claims industry and knowledge of legislation regulating the industry will be an advantage; and
• The candidate must gain a full understanding of the processes, procedures and systems used in the execution of the company’s core
operations.

Minimum Requirements
• Tertiary commerce or other relevant bachelor’s degree;
• Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and training skills are essential;
• Management skills and experience;
• Drivers licence and own transport; and
• Computer literate in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
