Business Director - Africa

Our client is a successful multinational company based in Cape Town. They have product on shelf in over 70 countries, and are looking to expand their global footprint even further.

As result of this growth, an exciting opportunity exists for a strategically minded all rounder to not only manage the existing distributor relationships in each country, but drive the expansion of new relationships into additional African countries. This position will require extensive travel. Ideally you will have international experience to support the fact that you are comfortable working within foreign countries.

The primary objectives of this role are:
• research environment and trading conditions;
• find and appoint a distributor in each country;
• ensure the enrolment of the distributor’s team in the brands and strategies;
• review and comment on the distributor’s launch plan; and
• manage the critical relationships with distributors on an ongoing basis.

To be successful in this role, you will have an instinctive grasp of the intricacies of business development within the African landscape, a CA qualification or other Business Honours Degree and the following key personality traits:

Desired experience
At least 8 - 10 years' professional experience in either finance or retail, preferably some time in both.

Minimum requirements
Post graduate business or finance qualification.
