Key Responsibilities

The Finance Guide’s key responsibilities include:

• The Finance Guide directs the activities of the team, through accurate and analytical information, in line with the clients’ financial competency gaps and needs and the needs of the client business, relevant to the organization.
• Informs each team member post GPS, to ensure that each guide on the team has an understanding of the financial position of the client and their specific role in supporting the client to deliver on the agreed upon strategy to be followed per client and relevant business life cycle.
• Ensures that the financial strategy agrees with and is aligned with client competency and overall agreed upon business strategy alignment.
• Responsible for the overall financial understanding of the client’s unique business needs and the management of the team against the financial performance.
• Reports timeously on the financial position of the business and any immediate threats identified, from a non-compliance to legislation or other mal-administrations.
• The Finance Guide uses the information gained in the purple process to make up a diagnostic and a one page executive summary of the entrepreneur, the business and its financial requirements to date to be incorporated into the GPS presentation.
• The Finance Guide is responsible for writing up a quarterly summary report to contribute to the Entrepreneur Summary report which forms parts of the quarterly Principal Sponsor reports.
• The Finance Guide is expected to assist in the collation and writing of the quarterly Principal Sponsor reports, in collaboration with the relevant Guiding team and Strategy Guide.
• The Finance Guide acts as a liaison / filter and quality controller to ensure accurate information is reported in the monthly management accounts prepared by the organizations bookkeepers, or from external bookkeeping retained by the client, to ensure that financial information is accurate and is able to assist the client in their decision-making.
• The Finance Guide is responsible to the team to have an accurate picture of the financial position of the business or personal finances of the client to allow informed decision-making.
• Maybe required to take on the role of a team leader to ensure effective delivery and impact to the beneficiaries and Principals.
• The Finance Guide conducts clients sessions at least monthly that is both backward and forward looking, taking key business drivers into consideration.

Job Specification

Skills, Competencies & Minimum Criteria

• Degree in Accounting/Auditing required.
• Chartered Accounting qualification preferred.
• Minimum 10 – 15 years’ experience in business (a blend of both corporate and own business exposure preferred).
• Entrepreneurial journey and experience non-negotiable
• Excellent written and spoken communication ability.
• Exceptional organizational and administrative skills.
• Proven ability to positively impact turnover, profitability and personal development of an entrepreneur.
• Strong business acumen.
• Intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook required.
• Own vehicle with valid driver’s licence non-negotiable.
