Business Head
Reporting to the CEO, the Regional Business Head will play an active and key role in managing a team across Malawi to develop the business, increase market share of the current brands, and work on new product development. The Regional Business Head will be responsible for the bottom line of the business, by effectively managing, monitoring and leading functions such as finance, sales, marketing, production and human resource management.
Oversight of production and operations at all the manufacturing plants and create operational efficiencies minimize by reducing costs through a lean manufacturing approach
Strict GMP oversight in line with ISO and HACCP requirements as per the policies across all manufacturing facilities
Develop strategies for growing into untapped market segments i.e Agricultural, Mining
Material requirement planning to ensure zero stock outs based on production and lead times for all imports, as well as forecasted demand in local and export markets
Working closely with sales & marketing personnel to sensitize regions and markets with less awareness of products through marketing strategies
Coordination of meetings with key customers, and regular follow-up with customers across the Region, leveraging our existing Sales Team
Ensuring route to market is efficient and timely and the channel distribution is appropriately suited for a basket of products
Managing promotional/marketing events
Management and training of employees, incl. sales representatives and merchandizers
Oversight of logistics coordination for customer deliveries through distributors (local) or 3PL providers (export)
Coordinating with distributors and internal team members neighbouring markets to build brands and leverage economies of scale in production to reduce overall costs
Local procurement of raw materials such as soybean, peanuts, maize, tomato’s
Responsible for capital expansion projects to increase manufacturing capacities based on forecasted demands
Risk management through closely monitoring global trends in commodities and exchange rate volatilities
Key Qualifications & Requirements:
Relevant degrees and qualifications in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance, Marketing or related fields
Strong Communication & Diplomacy Skills
Knowledge of Customer Service Skills
Innovator and a candidate who can think outside the box
Co-coordinating conferences, exhibitions and other marketing events.
Proficient in MS Office Suite namely Word, Excel & PowerPoint
Experience with Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator a plus
Experience in a branded food & beverage industry would be a plus
Sub-Saharan Africa experience and prior travel into the region would be an advantage
Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects
Ability to complete projects timely (deadline driven) and accurately is critical
Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
Ability to work well with others (teamwork) in a fast paced and dynamic environment
