Job Summary:

3 years minimum experience working with the implementation and oversight of business improvement initiatives; Proven track record of Project Management skills on cross functional initiatives; Successful change management experience; Relevant experience in root cause analysis and lean manufacturing practices

Essential Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills

• B. Degree NQF Level 7 (Engineering or related)
• Sound understanding of statistics and data analysis techniques
• Advanced Excel experience

Job Responsibilities

Driving operational excellence & idea generation

• Implementation of company’s Operational Excellence Program.
• Sustaining and driving the Business Improvement Programs.
• Rollout business improvement cycle to identify gaps at sites across various departments.
• Maintain and manage the cost improvement pipeline.
• Set   up   dashboards   to   track   Key   Performance   Indicators   at   various   departments   and   drive   the identification and implementation of continuous business improvement initiatives.

Idea Management:

• Manage idea logging and tracking system ensuring that all improvement initiatives identified are captured on the system and progress from concept to implementation phase.
• Drive benefits tracking on implemented improvement initiatives, conducting post implementation reviews and sign off of initiatives and awarding recognition to relevant parties.

Industrial Engineering Projects:

• Support BU with operational and tactical Industrial Engineering related projects.
• Support operations with bottleneck identification and resolution.
• Establish and maintain relationships with the appropriate parties to facilitate the optimal execution of the regional Industrial Engineering function.
• Identify new business opportunities to support business strategy.
• Identification of cost drivers’ and tracking of efficiency improvements.
• Identify and investigate problems, lead the development of solutions toward optimizing applicable processes /systems.
• Maintain internal and external professional networks.
• Support the development and implementation of an appropriate approach to knowledge management for the discipline in line with business needs.

Project & Capital Support - portfolio management

• Take part in financial evaluations up to prefeasibility study of projects and make recommendations on the implementation of projects.
• Participate in the implementation of appropriate quality management systems to ensure delivery of high quality projects and engineering outcomes.
• Assist with performing Post Implementation Reviews on completed capital projects.

Reporting:

• Performance reporting based on areas of responsibility and involvement i.e. Weekly, monthly reporting, Quarterly Performance Reviews, Project Reviews, etc.
• Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicator driver trees (KPI value tree)
• Establish tracking and reporting systems on site.
