Our client, a producer and exporter of Citrus and Table Grapes is looking for a Business Intelligence Assistant to be based at their head office in Bellville. The successful candidate would be required to travel within South Africa between the company’s farms on a regular basis.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Drive correct use of farm management, wage and pack house software on all levels across production units
• Training of software users to ensure optimal system usage
• Drive optimal system usage to generate standardised data to ensure optimal BI decision making processes
• Undergo extensive ongoing training to stay on top of new system developments
• Assist the IT Manager with ad hoc IT support (hardware) issues at remote farm locations and head office

Minimum Requirements:

• A Matric with relevant tertiary qualification
• 5 years’ experience in a Data Management related environment
• Fully bilingual (English and Afrikaans)
• A willingness to travel to all production units (farms and pack houses) across the Western Cape
• Excellent communication skills
• The ability to train people gently but firmly
• The ability to work independently, accurately, under pressure and to enforce discipline
• Must have a valid driver’s license

The following will be highly advantageous:

• Experience in Farm Costing Solutions (Crest) or similar farm and wage management software
• Experience in Sapphire (DIPAR) or any similar pack house management software
• Exposure to the fruit growing, packing and export industry
• Exposure to training people
• The ability to speak a third language (like isiXhosa)
