Introduction
The individual will play a key role in designing, developing as well as implementing various BI components and solutions. The BI Developer is expected to have a solid understanding of ETL, SQL, Data Warehousing and web application development, with high proficiency in designing and creating logical and physical data models.
Minimum Requirements
• Have a relevant IT degree or equivalent certification/qualification
• Have 5 years of overall IT experience, with a minimum of 3 years spent in BI development
• Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in SQL and report development
• Be proficient in MS SQL Server 2012 including T-SQL, SSIS and SSRS
• Having experience and knowledge of QlikView development would be an advantage
• Have a firm understanding of data warehouse methodology
• Experience in the insurance industry would be an advantage
• Have experience in MIS & BI environments
• Must have excellent analytical skills and the ability to identify problems, gaps and contradictions
• Have proven ability to manage concurrent and complex tasks on a regular basis.
• Possess strong problem-solving skills and decision-making ability.
• Have excellent written and oral communication skills, follow-through and attention to detail.
• Have the ability to build good relationships and work well within a team
• Have good conflict handling and listening skills
• Have high work ethic and be able to work under pressure

Job Specification
• Design, develop, implement, and maintain interactive and operational reporting solutions for the enterprise
• Design, develop, implement, and maintain enhancements to the data warehouse, and enterprise data services (stored procedures, views, functions) shared across applications and reporting
• Demonstrate BI architecture skills and knowledge to advance our environment.
• Ensure the data warehouse contains the data needed to deliver exceptional BI reports to the end user and to ensure that it performs as efficiently as possible
• Provide feedback and suggestions around our model, and provide insight into best practices for BI/DW
• Performs Data warehouse capacity planning.
• Ensures data quality and data governance.
• Debugging, monitoring and troubleshooting BI solutions
• Writing relational and multidimensional database queries
• Adhere to all documentation standards, development lifecycle tasks, status reporting requirements
• Support all reporting cycles
• Configuring deploying and maintaining database servers
• Deliver high quality solutions through proactive testing and on-going quality monitoring
• Support data management principles, policies, standards and best practices
