Job Title : Business Intelligence Officer

Duration : Five Year Fixed Term Contract

Reporting Line : Head of Strategic Management Office

Overall Job Purpose : The implementation of a corporate performance management and monitoring mechanism to ensure the delivery of the company strategy by providing better strategically based decision-making, understanding, and increasing innovation and the generation of knowledge and insight.

Key Responsibilities:

• Acquiring, interpreting, evaluating, documenting, and interrelating data and information and developing business analysis and projections enabling
timeous business intelligence for all levels in the company.
Supporting the respective business thrusts by providing channels, networks, systems and process information.
• Developing standards for best practices for reporting. Implementing a standard reporting process in the organisation.
• Marketing and educating the organisation on available reporting tools and the company selection criteria.
• Providing the organisation with required and requested business reports and dashboards.
• Designing and implementing a performance management reporting system for the organisation.
• Supporting and implementing a cycle of medium-term improvements to drive profitability and strategic objectives through BI.
• Establishing, aligning and managing target and budget goals whilst ensuring effective control of costs for a range of functional areas to increase
cost efficiency.
• Developing a BI service culture which builds rewarding relationships, proposes innovations and allows others to provide exceptional client service
• Attending project team meetings and reports on progress
• Managing working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including end-users, SME’s, project managers and senior staff members to ensure
application of BI tools
• Facilitating sessions to collaborate with stakeholders about options for the solution
• Ensuring Business Intelligence Service through the solution life cycle, which includes: design, build, test, implement and validate the overall
solution
• Ensuring all deliverables are of the correct quality

Qualification and Experience:

• B degree
• ICT qualification for data modelling and business intelligence reporting
• Knowledge of PRINCE2 methodology advantage.
• Knowledge of Business Intelligence architecture and experience with a BI tool
• Knowledge of PRINCE2 project methodology advantageous
• Adaptability to work within guidelines set by the SMO / PMO Managers
• Effective communication skills
• Experience with BI/Reporting tools
• Ability to multi-task with a variety of customers and projects
• Achievement oriented
• Ability to work under pressure across diverse stakeholders and multiple projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of PPO software will be an advantage
• Good communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
