An ever expanding company in the container industry is looking to appoint a Business Manager for their logistics department. This position is based at their depot in Paarl.

Responsibilities:

• Material handling and transportation;
• Prepare worker schedules and ensure warehouse and distribution workers follow safety rules;
• Understanding the whole supply chain;
• IT systems to manage stock levels, delivery times and transport costs;
• Allocate and manage staff and resources according to changing needs;
• Analysing logistic problems and producing new solutions;
• Continually try to improve and develop business performance
• Perform other job-related duties, as needed.

Qualifications:

• A degree/diploma in logistics will be an advantage, or a minimum of 2 to 3 years related work experience
• Knowledge of the Container industry a plus
• People management as well as logistical management experience
• Must have a logical and systematic approach to work, with a good time management ability
• The ability to solve problems and make decisions, as well as think laterally and offer creative solutions
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team, as well as manage people
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
