Position: Business Manager

Job Purpose:

Responsible for the sales performance of a particular region(s) within South Africa in respect of products in its raw state as well as upgraded products with value added finishes. The acquisition / maintenance of an appropriate regional market share together with the achievement of budgeted volumes and pricing. Maintenance of sustainable customer relationships

Principle Accountabilities:

• Development of regional plans for the particular area (strategic) – the plan is to be customer specific and aligned with annual budgeted requirements. Implementation and monitoring of such plan together with the appropriate actions as necessary (management of such).
• Analysis and evaluation of regional sales achievements (day to day operational activity) together with corrective actions as necessary. This includes monitoring monthly customer targets, pricing, share of business (volumes), product mix, sales forecasts etc
• Excellent understanding of the customers business model together with existing & future needs
• Identification and implementation of growth opportunities – in both the current customer base as well as new business
• Pricing management – management of regional as well as segmental pricing according to targets, discount variations per customer, KAM/s adherence to the authority matrix as well as recommendations etc
• Customer relationships – maintaining a sound business / strategic relationship with customers (ie their key personnel)
• Staff management – training & development of KAM’s as well as providing them with support & guidance , manage all aspects of the call reports eg customer sales data, claims, outstanding monies (debtors), service levels, market intelligence (value added information), call frequency pattern
• Inter Company relationships – ensure & maintain sound relationships between sales and other internal departments ( eg production, logistics & finance) so as to enhance the customers relationship with the company
• Administration – general eg presentation of monthly reports, input to annual budget,

Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum Required

Tertiary Qualification in sales & marketing (NQF 5)
3 – 5 years direct Sales experience
3 years managerial experience
Business acumen
Information Technology Literacy
