Business & Planning Analyst - Gauteng
Job Description:
Manages the Business Planning and Analysis activity (tracking performance and budget deviations, preparing forecasts and budgets, supporting in decision making) across the entire business including the Export countries. Supports and drives company performance by proactively focusing on costs, risks and opportunities and commercial decision making
Major Accountability:
1. Target achievement, timely communication of risks and opportunities
- Analysis to business of variances to Target
- Tracking and driving improvement in financial indicators
- Preparation of financial key figures/indicators to support target setting for mid range plans, LE's' and Budgets
2. Reporting
- Tracking monthly financial reports
- Quality of reporting: timely and accurate
- Analysis and tracking of Headcount
- Adapting of reports to internal business requirements
- Ensuring alignment with the accounting principles of the company
3. Business partnership and performance
- Reviewing and highlighting product, customer and therapeutic area profitability
- Monitoring and developing action plans around inventory write off, stock in trade and logistics and data fees
- Produce management reports for the Commercial function
- Support decision-making and budget management within the organisation
- Represent Finance within the Commercial Function
- To be the economic conscience of the Commercial Function
- Assist and drive new market performance
- Assist and drive Export performance
4. Planning
- Participates in forecasts to support key business decision making
- Support functions in the formulation of their business and financial plans
- To fully understand key business issues and cost drivers
- Challenge budgets and projects within given assumptions and to maintain valid financial plans
- Weekly outlook forecast to Region
5. Process
- Strengthen compliance, with assistance from FC&C, as per NFCM guidance in BPA
- Full control over revenue deduction
- Speed in execution of pricing for business
Minimum requirements:
Education:
Minimum University degree in Economics or Business Administration (or similar), preferably specializing in Finance
Professional Financial Qualification such as CIMA/CA/ACCA
Languages: Business English (written & spoken)
• 5+ years experience in Commercial Finance or Financial Management
• Excellent analytical ability
• Strong written and oral communication skills, and ability to clearly present financial data in reports distributed to Regional and Global officers,
as well as external authorities
• Excellent understanding and ability with ERP systems, as well as relevant financial sub-systems
