Our internationally recognized client requires the services of an experience Business Analyst reporting to the Head of Dept, Information Technology.
PURPOSE
Solves organisational information problems by analysing requirements; proposing and designing solutions through the use of “Best of Breed” applications; recommending system controls and protocols.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
Qualification in an industry-related field and/or a business, commerce and management degree/diploma or Business Analysis diploma
Experience:
At least 5 years experience in a related role
Skills:
• Good verbal and communication skills, including active listening skills
• Well organised with understanding of business processes and systems
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong computer literacy in relevant applications
• Solid understanding of planning / project principles, tools and techniques
• Good understanding of Database design and structures
• Solid experience in BI and Reporting Tools
• Experience in ERP a definite plus

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE:
1. Ensure that the requirements set by the business are captured and documented correctly before any solutions are developed.
2. Solving Business requirements through the use of current or new best of breed applications, compiling business cases for 3rd parties to meet this need where applicable.
3. Maintenance and growth of all internal business systems.
4. Providing information or ways of accessing information to all relevant stakeholders, through the use of BI and Reporting tools.
5. Build effective relationships with clients (mostly internal) to develop joint vision for projects
6. Manage Client expectations through careful and proactive communications regarding requirements and changes
7. Use negotiation skills to build final consensus on a common set of requirements from all stakeholders
8. Ensure that Stakeholders understand implications of their decisions, and provide options and alternatives when necessary
MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE:
• Determine operational objectives by analysing business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
• Design new computer systems by analysing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications.
• Develop an understanding of how present and future business needs will impact solutions.
• Improve systems by studying current practices; designing modifications.
• Recommend controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures.
• Provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; providing help desk support; training users.
• Maintain user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
• Prepare technical reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
• Developing BI Models and System Reports based on business requirements.
