Overview:

A leading Engineering Consultancy working internationally, specialising within transportation, structural management and infrastructure services, requires a Transportation Manager to head up their Business Unit requiring excellent management and strategy skills combined with a track record of exemplary customer service, expert industry know-how and connections, mental agility and problem-solving skills, strong management acumen, analytical skills and an engaging personality.

Responsibilities:

Project Management: Responsible for the technical aspects including design, preparation of tender documents, project implementation, site administration and monitoring as well as client liaison.
Managing the Business Unit
Making sure that policies and procedures for transportation operations are developed and implemented where required
Financial management of projects as well as monitoring the performance and profitability Transportation Business Unit for East London.
Business development including marketing, developing and maintaining relationships with clients and various business partners.
Involved in the management of proposals, panel applications and tenders.
Liasing with the Transportation Division Head as those within the Eastern Cape Region, including other Business Unit Managers
Identify, develop and maintain technology solutions to improve user experience, program efficiency and data collection.
Oversee, and where appropriate investigate and respond, to customer service inquiries, suggestions, complaints in a prompt and responsive and professional manner.
Complying with the Company’s Quality Management System requirements.
Provide hands-on leadership and guidance to a growing team.
Human Resources Management involving staffing, training and mentoring

Minimum Qualifications:

Civil Engineering Degree (BSc / BEng / BTech )
Registration with ECSA as a Pr.Eng or Pr.Tech
Minimum of 5 - 10 years’ relevant experience as Pr. Eng / minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience as Pr.Tech encompassing all aspects of roads projects: Design, Contract administration, preferably in the consulting industry.
Proven Management experience overseeing a Business Unit or Team
Proven business development skills and strong established networks within the Eastern Cape preferred
Understanding various forms of contract and standard specifications applicable to road infrastructure projects.
Project Management experience as well as financial and HR Resource Management exp.
Proficient in MS Office; MS Projects.
Experience on SANRAL projects will be an advantage.
