Overall responsibility for the Retail Operations City Deep, incorporating the “ Cold Storage packing plant” incorporating Safety; Health; Environment; Quality Management Systems, Food Safety, pest control, risk and loss control and end to end store operations with emphasis on delivery to people, process, finance and customer results achievement.

The successful candidate must have:

A Clean criminal record is a must
Own transport is a must
Must be “customer centric”, with a friendly nature.
Must be a hardworking and self-starter
Ability to “assert” himself when required.
Ability to lead, give instructions, ability to command
Work under pressure in a tough cold store environment.
Must have “meat industry” experience (worked in butchery/corporate retail butchery etc) and or store retail experience
Must be able to work long retail hours and where appropriate, rotational weekend shifts, including Saturdays
Able to work at pace, unattended and “own the branch” income statement/profit and loss account
Must possess advanced Store leadership/management skills
Must have reasonable IR training w.r.t counselling, initiating and or chairing disciplinary hearings
Proven track record when it comes to results achievement (People, process, finance and customer)
Directly accountable for the financial and cash controls from a sale, expense and all other financial requirements (Income statement, banking
etc)
Directly accountable for shrinkage targets, including stock management, stock ordering, stock receipt and storage, stock rotation, risk
reduction housekeeping initiatives and temperature control

Education;

Some form of tertiary qualification/diploma relative to retail/business management and or marketing would be preferable
