BUYER (COMPONENTS) – IT DISTRIBUTION
SALARY NEGOTIABLE INCLUDING INCENTIVES

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be based in Cape Town and will be responsible for the following:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Knowledge
Knowledge around computers and their components a necessity
Understanding and continuous development on product knowledge
Provide reports and target tracking information as required
Engage with all relevant parties and subsidiary companies
Understand and implement company strategy and warranty policies in alignment with product
Product support (PDF Spec Sheets, Web Info, Sales Support, Customer Support-Systems Integrators)
Managing ageing stock in branch /portfolio
Focusing on components planning and forecasting
Setting and maintaining stock levels based on basket goods
Maintenance of stock sets
Overseas costing and forecasting
Strong understanding of Customs, clearance and Shipping processes and codes.
Assist with product codes, pricelists on system and costing
Attend weekly sales meetings and assist in resolving stock issues
Assist in order managing process to maintain service and stock levels. Build and maintain internal and external relationships
Manage rebates and incentives from suppliers
Liaise with suppliers for promotional funds and materials

REQUIREMENTS
Matric/Grade 12 with a Business Management degree/diploma and/or IT qualification will be advantageous
Component knowledge is essential
Procurement Management experience will an advantage
Experience within the IT industry is essential
Must understand the IT market and the specific needs around the different market segments (subdistributors, select resellers, resellers and end-users)
Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint is essential
Spread-sheet knowledge in drawing up and utilizing reports (stock management, product reordering, ageing stock etc.)
Ability to learn new products
