Ensure that orders comply with signed supplier contracts
Obtain 3 x quotes prior to adjudication
Follow up on orders
Ensure cordial vendor relations at all times
Negotiate favourable pricing
Liaise with technical personnel
Candidate Requirements
3 years experience as technical buyer within a manufacturing environment
Exposure to supplier contracts
Knowledge of purchasing practices/procedures ,
Experienced in pricing of imported materials , customs procedures , shipping terms and clearance procedures
Non- negotiable :
Grade 12 with relevant Purchasing Qualification
