Buyer / Planner (Detergents / Chemicals)

Educational Requirements:
Matric (with math’s)
Relevant qualification

Experience Requirements:
Must have at least 3 – 5 years’ relevant experience
Must be well spoken, able to communicate effectively & well presented
Must be able to negotiate
Must be proficient on Microsoft office, with advanced Excel
Must have own transport and valid driver license

Responsibilities:
Negotiating better prices and consolidating orders from suppliers
Conducting research to ascertain market trends and needs: Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities
Assisting and coordinating all transport & orders to be despatched
Price corrections and adjustments: Checking costs, quality and levels of service
Printing and processing daily GRN’s, labels etc.
Correction and maintenance of bill of materials
Assisting in project management, project budgets & management of budgets / costs
Producing reports and statistics
Negotiating contracts with all suppliers and manufactures
Keeping contract files and using them as reference for the future
Processing invoices
Stock takes & stock counts
Monitoring stock levels to maximize business efficiency, ensuring sufficient stock on hand at all times to meet production targets
Buying packaging & raw materials
Visiting distribution centers and suppliers if needed
Training and supervising the work of other members of staff with computer software
Maintain inventories of material, selling and cost prices
Identifying potential suppliers
Liaising with production supervisor & assisting with production planning
Able to streamline & improve processes
Assist with staff management (sound knowledge of HR / Labour law etc)
Any adhoc duties as needed

Additional info:
Salary R15 000 – R18 000 per month CTC
Mon – Thurs 8am – 5pm, Fri to 2pm, must be willing to work overtime / weekends as needed
Three-month contract to start with
