One of Africa’s leading pharmaceutical company is urgently looking for a dynamic and driven Buyer based in West Rand, Johannesburg.

Education, Training and Experience
• Grade 12
• Two years related experience
• Understanding of Business Operations
• Computer literate – MS office and Syspro
• Mathematics Skills

Key performance areas
• Run the MRP report once a month and extract a snapshot for every week, forecasting on 3 months stock holding.
• Determine, in conjunction with the Operation Manager, the material requirements in respect of the confirmed order book.
• Process orders on Syspro and ensure the correctness of the material prices.
• E-mail orders to suppliers and confirm that orders have been received by the respective suppliers.
• Ensure that orders for materials are placed on suppliers timeously, keeping lead times.
• Expedite orders daily.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding quality of material.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding incorrect and/or damaged materials supplied.
• Contact suppliers if goods are not delivered in accordance with the delivery dates stipulated on purchase orders.
• Liaise with production with regards to delayed delivery of materials.
• Print trail kit reports to verify the availability of materials for planning purposes.
• Issuing of batch documents to Dispensary and Warehouse to stage materials required for production.
• Updating 3 months production order book on Excel spreadsheet daily with regards to shortages and the availability of materials.
• Run the “Goods in Inspection” report daily to check materials received and that receipts have been processed on Syspro.
• Handling and solving of queries from the factory and warehouse regarding item codes, artwork, batch no’s, rejects, etc.
• Negotiate with suppliers with regards to pricing, minimum ordering
