Our client, a leading Diamond Mining Group, is looking for an experienced and qualified Buyer for their facility in Kimberley in the Northern Cape Province

Kimberley Ekapa Mining JV (KEM-JV) is a joint venture between Ekapa Minerals (Pty) Ltd, Super Stone Mining (Pty) Ltd and Crown Resources (Pty) Ltd (Petra Diamonds) and is situated in the City of Kimberley in the Northern Cape.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

To provide a purchasing function to ensure implementation and adherence to policies and procedures according to supply chain objectives and client needs.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Administer the pre/post expediting process to ensure delivery on or before promised dates
Develop new or alternative sources of supply by continually monitoring the supply market for new products or innovations according to standard and product testing procedures
Ensure price accuracy on the system
Liaise with end-users regarding purchasing status and continuously provide feedback
Minimise lead time variances according to customer requirements
Monitor the performance of the buying process (price movement, addition/deletion of suppliers) as per procedure
Negotiate trade terms and discount structures with suppliers
Attend to all purchasing related queries
Ensure purchasing process complies with Company policies and procedures

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12
National Certificate or Diploma in Supply Chain
Valid driver’s license – preferably own reliable transport
2 years relevant purchasing experience, including experience in the handling of assigned commodities and a good knowledge of sources of materials, supplies and equipment in South Africa
Computer literate (MS Office Suite)
Knowledge of PPPFA, BBBEE and Mining Charter (BEE) Scorecards / Levels and Compliance – Please indicate on CV
