NB: THIS IS A 6 Months Contract KEY PURPOSE To provide a purchasing service to the business unit which ensures availability of quality materials, equipment and services at lowest cost. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Purchasing Leveraging - Purchasing contracts management - Supplier Management - Supply Chain Improvement - Purchasing Administration SPECIFIC OUTCOMES - Pricing agreements as per purchasing contracts are maintained and optimised. - Delivered savings - Availability of supply - Material availability, pricing and quality from suppliers optimised. - Purchasing effectively administered. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS - In-depth knowledge of supply management. - A good understanding of contract law. - An in-depth knowledge of purchasing practices. - A working knowledge of the BEE market. - Basic understanding of finance and administration. - Working knowledge of relevant SAP R3 modules. - Good interpersonal skills. - Good communication skills i.e. writing, verbal and presentation. - Good problem-solving and analytical skills. - Strong negotiation skills. - Above average computer literacy, especially MS-Office. - Good planning and organising skills. - Attention to detail. - Concern for accuracy, order and meeting tight deadlines. - Ability to work with people of various levels, both in the organisation and in the broader business environment. - Team player - Ability to operate with little or no supervision. - Assertive and proactive individual. - Dynamic and energetic. - Stress tolerant. - Customer oriented.
