A fast-growing and established cloud IT business based in the Helderberg area is looking for a C# Developer to join their team. Our client is looking for candidates with a passion for software development within a fast-paced, energetic and fun environment.

Objective:
Your core responsibility will be to work with the company’s development team to develop and maintain their Backup Pro server-side software.

Responsibilities
You will be developing and maintaining the company’s Backup Pro software, in particular:
• Server-side Storage Platform, which serves as back-end for cross-platform backup clients
• General code quality improvement (testability, performance, resource usage).
• Help to design and implement cloud-scale backup services using Microsoft Azure and Amazon EC2/S3.
• Producing design specifications and coding according to the best practices and software coding standards.
• Produce test code or unit tests to drive functionality, including error paths.
• Provide ongoing support throughout the project (or until responsibility has been re-allocated), to all departments and customers as required.
• Lead and assist junior developers on technical issues, also on coding and software engineering standards.
• Work closely with Management to make ensure timeous delivery and schedules are met.
• Work closely with the Technical team and systems architect to provide technical direction for new and existing applications.
Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years of Professional working experience in a commercial working environment.
• You must provide a written code for several different projects; having been involved from design to commercial implementation (including maintenance).
• Extensive C# experience
• Experience with test driven development
• You must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people at all levels
• Proven analytical and problem solving skills

Preferable

• Sound Knowledge of Team Foundation Server, Git, HTTP and REST
• Experience in writing Windows Services and TCP/IP sockets.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and/or other cloud services.
