Job Title: C&I Technician

Job Description: The incumbent will be required to maintain and improve Control and Instrumentation infrastructure within the mine.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Diagnose faults on industrial instrumentation and control equipment and carry out repairs accordingly.
Plan extensions and modifications to existing instrumentation infrastructure.
Examine test and repair control and instrumentation equipment as well as Siemens PLC and Adroit SCADA system.
Maintain instrumentation documentation.
Install and maintain industrial instrumentation in the Plant and Underground operations.
Perform standby duties and shift work as and when required.
Ensure personal and co-workers’ adherence and compliance to Security and Company’s SHE objectives.

Minimum Requirements:

Relevant Trade Test Certificate and N6 with Instrumentation and Process Control, OR
S4 & P2 Process Control Diploma or equivalent

Minimum of five years relevant experience.
Sound knowledge of industrial instrumentation, X-ray diamond recovery machines.
Sound knowledge of Siemens S7 PLC hardware and software.
Knowledge of Adroit SCADA software configuration.
Valid Driver’s License Code (08/ EB).

Other Skills / Competencies:

Sound verbal written and interpersonal communication skills in English.
Sound process instrumentation fault finding skills in a Siemens PLC environment
Must be able to work in a team as well as alone

Preference will be given to suitable candidates from the designated groups in line with the Company’s Employment Equity Policy and Plan and internal candidates.
Pre-screening, profile testing, on mine assessments, medical and security clearance will form part of the recruitment and selection process.
Short listed candidates will be required to attend a panel interview.
Employment of the successful candidate is subject to passing on Mine induction and the aforementioned criteria.
Preference will be given to candidates who reside within our host labour sending area of Tshwane Municipality (proof of residence may be requested).
