Job criteria needed (Must have qualifications)

• Grade 12
• Electrical Engineering Qualification – Minimum N 6

Role and responsibilities:

• Create and maintain all cable designs manually or in a system the company will be using for this purpose
• Ensure that all cable designs comply with regulatory standards
• Maintain and update all BOM’s in SAP to ensure effective stock level control
• Review any changes to national standards and update designs accordingly\Draw up and issue technical data sheets if so required by customers including all electrical formulae and values
• Liaise with customers re specific cable requirements and design cable accordingly
• Advise customers on the application of specific cable types per customer requirements

Required minimum work experience:
• 5 to 8 years’ experience as a power cable designer in the cable industry
• Above average SAP literacy required
• Must have, Cable Builder or similar cable design system experience
• Must be able to do manual cable formulations
• Must be able to maintain BOM’s in SAP
• Must be familiar with all SANS cable standards
• Must be familiar with all cable raw materials and the application thereof
• Must have extensive knowledge of cable packaging requirements and market related packaging of finished products
• In depth knowledge on how to calculate drum volumes and other packaging unites
• Must be familiar with cable manufacturing equipment and product routings
