Our client is looking for a Category Analyst to be based in Cape Town. The is 3 months contract position. Must be immediately available!

Your responsibilities will include: 

• Strategic & market analysis including market research and competitor mapping; identifying price, selection, sourcing and brand opportunities
• Ability to translate above insights into operational plans with Division Manager
• Risk management of performance vs targets: Identify & quantify gaps & opportunities in order to meet & exceed targets
• Build seasonal plans /strategies based on historic trends & division strategies
• Overseeing demand planning & stock optimization including budget management
• Forward planning of promotional activities & margin management
• Create divisional performance monitoring reports including KPI templates & dashboards; Support key supplier meetings with data-driven insights
• Own the reporting architecture and manage data integrity 

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 5+ years analytical, finance or management consulting experience
• Bachelor’s degree required
• High proficiency in advanced Excel
