One of Cape Town’s premier private hospitals is seeking an experienced RN for its busy Cath lab.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with cardiac catheterisation using aseptic technique
• Practice patient care according to the Scope of Practice and assume total responsibility for these activities
• Contribute to the holistic care of patients
• Attend handover of report at shift commencement
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care
• Ensure all stock is well controlled and managed, charged and credited appropriately
• Audit of health records to ensure compliance
• Keep abreast of current research in the discipline

Requirements:

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse / Midwife
• Knowledge of scrubbing technique
• Knowledge of post anaesthetic recovering technique
• Ventilator experience (advantageous)
• Relevant experience in Cath Lab advantageous otherwise Theatre scrub RN or ICU Experienced
• Capacity to implement and maintain standards of health practice required from all accredited bodies and appropriate health legislation
