An opportunity exists at York Timbers in Sabie, Mpumalanga, for a Central Procurement Manager. This role requires a tough minded and energetic person that will be able to implement and manage a central procurement system in a listed company environment.

Key Performance Areas:
* Improve and develop new procurement policies and procedures to ensure the effective establishment of a central procurement function that serves the operational requirements of the business units as well as leverages group purchasing power
* Development and implementation of a BBBEE procurement strategy
* Manage the establishment of this function so that it becomes embedded into the fundamental day to day running of the business as a whole
* Lead the vendor selection and negotiation process to ensure that the best price and service is consistently received
* Manage and develop supplier relationships and also manage internal stakeholder relationships
* Manage a team of buyers and stores which are geographically dispersed
* Develop and implement procurement procedures and controls that result in cost savings throughout the company
* Understand and manage commercial terms and ensure compliance to legislation
* Drive cost savings and improve productivity within the procurement team
* Ensure the implementation of BEE supplier development and procurement initiatives

Requirements:
* BCom Supply Chain Management / Relevant similar qualification
* Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar environment
* In depth knowledge of BBBEE legislation
* Ability to lead negotiations with suppliers
