ROLE PURPOSE
? To ensure the organisation's financial sustainability and ensure accurate reporting,
? Budget Management.

REQUIREMENTS
? CA
? 8-10 years in Finance Management in an organisation or division of a multi-national organisation (+/- R 2 billion turnover; 2000 + employees).
? SAP proficiency
? Relevant legislation

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPAS)
Strategic Planning and Objective Setting
? Collaborate with Chief Executive Officer to establish and accomplish organisational goals and future direction and develop supporting financial and administrative tactical initiatives.
? Collaborate with other executives to optimise profitability in conjunction with short-term and long-term business strategies, goals and objective.
? Provide leadership to management, offering advice, guidance, and direction on business matters, including operational policies and procedures, new business initiatives, and management of existing relationships.
? Develop plans for business expansion activities in conjunction with business maintenance and renewal of identified accounts. Identify opportunities to increase value added-services to clients.
? Review and approve all client agreements and operating policies and procedures in area of responsibility.
? Negotiate and conclude contracts related to consumables of strategic importance to the Organisation’s operations.
? Advise the CEO on strategic business development and key corporate planning issues and make recommendations on major business decisions. Keep the CEO informed about business activities, potential threats, opportunities and major recommended actions and ensure the timely and accurate provision of reports, including the identification of problem areas with corrective action plans to both the CEO and the Organisation’s Board.
? Sit and report to the Board of Directors.
? Chair committees with a view to oversight.
? Develop and implement space planning strategies to accommodate current and future organizational need.
? Identify and implement change initiatives in area of responsibility to improve workflow and productivity.
? Negotiate and build relationships and networks in order to create and expand on existing stakeholder relationships.
? Manage Organisational financial risk through:
? Identifying risks at an enterprise and divisional level and participates at executive level in ranking risks and developing plans to manage the identified risks.
? Ensuring that proper control systems, risk assessments and risk management established and maintained and regular reports provided to the CEO.
? Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and established.
Management of the Finance and Administration Operations
? Manage the Finance; Procurement and Administration departments to achieve the operational objectives of the division.
? Oversee the management of all fiscal reporting activities; including revenue/expenditure; balance sheet reports; etc.
? Oversee the production of monthly reports including reconciliations; financial cash-flow projections; etc. for use at Exco; RemCom and Board level.
? Ensure the development of financial acumen of executive and senior management through on-going financial communication and education.
? Build a proactive environment to ensure that management take responsibility for results; by ensuring appropriate feedback mechanisms and identification of problems areas.
? Oversee and control year end results and annual report.
? Manage debtors of public and private hospitals.
Manage the Financial Risk of the Organisation
? Define and update the financial risk management infrastructure:
? Identify risk at divisional level.
? Participate in ranking risks and developing mitigating plans to manage identified financial risks.
? Ensure control systems; risk assessments and risk management in the finance and administration departments.
? Ensure compliance with relevant tax and company law, and accounting standards.
? Maintain relations with external stakeholders and investigate their findings and make recommendations.
Meet Financial Objectives Set for the Finance Division
? Develop and manage national budget for the Finance division.
? Prepare divisional cost centre reports with explanation of variances and corrective action taken where required.
? Approve divisional expenditure according to defined limits.
? Prepare presentations and reports on departmental budgets at relevant meetings.
Manage the Divisions Staff

? Set objectives and goals for staff to achieve.
? Conduct performance management and monitor performance on on-going basis through mentoring, coaching and reviews according to agreed timeframes and take appropriate steps to correct problems.
? Ensure completion of required training as per training pan for the division has been completed.
? Deal with grievances, conflict and disciplinary issues and take appropriate corrective actions in accordance with organisations’s Policy on matters related to misconduct & incapacity (performance & ill-health), with a view to improving productivity.
? Ensure regular two-way communication with staff on all general staff matters such as Principles of
? Excellence, team building, SOP's, policy changes, etc. to ensure understanding, required competency as well as compliance with SOP criteria and Good Laboratory Practice Guidelines.
? Recruitment and the selection of suitable candidates according to manpower plan R&S procedures and EE target.
? Provide strategic leadership, guidance and mentoring to direct reports and ensure that talent management forums are conducted and succession plans for division is in place.
