Channel Head: Modern Trade-Retail (FMCG)


IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:
Must be from the FMCG environment: Preferably Food
Must have 5 Years? Experience in Modern Trade / Retail
Must have National Account/Customer Management experience i.e. - (The persons current role can be a National Account Manager / Customer Manager / Channel Manager only ? Please Not Marketing OR other related fields)
Must have strong relationships / experience with Retail customers (multiple experience with these 4 customers would be ideal)
Strong Key Account experience, understanding the fundamentals of the South African FMCG environment

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develops compelling Modern Trade Sales Strategies.
Develop and Implement the Annual Sales Plan to achieve the growth targets, Channel and Brand KPIs as agreed with the business.

Through your strong understanding of the market, you will identify growth opportunities for your channel.
Develop strategic partnerships with the customers; negotiate mutually beneficial trading terms.

Achieve agreed ROI on sales spend/support, trade promotions and deals.
Manage third party sales agents and distributors and ensure that they achieve their agreed deliverables.
Support Finance/Debtors as required to manage recoveries within credit terms.

Develop Sales forecasts per customer, category, SKU and region.
Develop and Manage internal relationships (Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, etc.)

The successful candidate must have the following skills :

Com Degree OR Relevant Tertiary Qualification.
Strong decision making skills.
Independent Worker with Strong Initiative.
Commercially astute.
Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
