A well-established audit and financial management firm with offices across the country is seeking to employ a Chartered Accountant to join one of their offices in either Kuruman or Kathu, Northern Cape on a permanent basis.

KATHU/ KURUMAN AREA

Requirements:
- B.Com (Honours) - Accounting or equivalent degree studied at SAICA accredited university with at least 2 + years direct management / supervision experience
- Completed SAICA articles
- Must demonstrate personal and time management skills to ensure deadlines are met.
- A meticulous and detailed person for the initial review on files to be performed
- Must be good at leading a team and persons from diverse backgrounds
- High Technical ability (IFRS, Companies Act, International Standards of Auditing, Tax)
- Good knowledge of external audit methodology
- CaseWare knowledge and experience is a benefit, MS Excel and MS Word literate
- Travelling to clients, local and national will be required
- Overtime will be required from time to time to meet client deadlines
- Excellent Afrikaans & English communication skills

Duties will include:
- Examine, analyse, and interpret accounting records to prepare financial statements (IFRS and IFRS for SME's)
- Reviewing of Auditing (A-risk and normal), independent review and compilation files for reporting to Director
- Responsible to ensure audit quality and risk management in the review process
- Management of 3-4 SAICA audit clerks and the TSR/PSR process
- Training of the SAICA trainees and managing related external training
- Being the first point of contact for staff queries relating to auditing and quality
- Leading the team at the client in the absence of the director
- Dealing directly with clients and selling additional work - Identify and approach potential clients
- Project management of 3 audits or more at the same time
- Responsible for staff evaluation, feedback and disciplinary process with the director
- Managing the budget and planning of the assurance practise
- Responsible for CQS related updates and queries as well as the template management
- Working with senior manager and other peers for strategy development and execution planning and process improvement
- Report writing
- Issuing and reviewing of all assurance related billings done
- Any other accounting, drafting, reconciling, reviewing and auditing work as required
- Ensuring that you meet the minimum billings hours as per the BVA standards
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies

The Chartered accountant will report directly to the Director. The Kuruman & Kathu offices have a combined staff compliment of 25 people.
