What are the key responsibilities of the position?
• Working with the Executive Chef and the kitchen team to maintain high standards in the quality of food both as to its preparation and its presentation
• Preparation of a whole range of food, working in all areas of the kitchen
• Assist the Executive Chef to check the completeness of all suppliers’ deliveries and the correctness of their invoices
• Help with new menu ideas and menu design, being aware of current food trends with regard to presentation and style
• Ensuring that the kitchen is left clean and tidy at all times
• Ensuring that all food is correctly wrapped, labelled and put in fridge after prep/service

What type of experience do we require?
• 3 years experience in a similar 5 star environment

Which qualifications will secure this position?
• Formal Culinary Qualification from a recognised establishment
What skills / behaviours are required?
• Passion for cooking and ambition to improve your skills
• Able to work in all areas of the kitchen - Cold Kitchen, Pastry, Meat ,Fish and Sauces
• Good knife skills
• Good wine knowledge, able to understand food & wine pairing
• Basic knowledge of HACCP and Hygiene
• Excellent communication skills
• Effective listening skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills – may have to interact with guests
• Strong organisational skills - Ability to plan, coordinate, execute and follow up
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team
• Excellent time management skills and able to multi-task
• Self-motivated
• Sophisticated, mature and hardworking
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
• Must be of sober habits
