Location: Johannesburg

Description: An international company who specialise in analytical and diagnostic equipment is seeking a Chemistry Sales Representative to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the Gauteng region, but occasional trips in the rest of the country will be required. The duties includes but is not limited to: Actively scout for and be involved in lead generation activities to identify new accounts and product opportunities. Grow customer base in Gauteng. Develop and deliver product demonstrations on laboratory equipment. Provide high level information about techniques and products. Identify customer needs and trends and always present products and support services to customers appropriately and effectively. Ensuring the territory prospect pipeline is populated with a balance of short, mid and long term prospects sufficient to reach targets. Actively sell the increased value of products and services and always negotiate the best price. Maintain technical selling capability to consult the customer. Maintain an effective time and territory management plan. Maintain accurate customer and prospect information. Provide and maintain account mapping on all key accounts. Cultivate partnerships with customers and other suppliers to solve customer problems. Build a long term relationship with customers. Participation in tradeshows/exhibitions.

Key Requirements: BSc or higher degree in Chemistry with experience in spectroscopy or chromatography. Proven sales experience in a similar field with a strong track record. Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English). Excellent planning and organizational skills and problem solving abilities. Excellent marketing acumen. Willingness to travel is essential.
